Jozef Stefan Institute will organize a workshop on "4D STEM Imaging" in Piran, Slovenia from May 14th to May 18th, 2023.

The European School on 4D STEM Imaging (AdSTEM3) will be held in Piran, Slovenia from May 14 to May 18, 2023. This third Advanced school on Scanning Transmission Electron Microscopy (AdSTEM3) will focus on emerging 4D STEM imaging techniques. The School is targeted at doctoral students, post-doctoral researchers and also already experienced microscopists.
The workshop is organized jointly by the Jožef Stefan Institute and the ESTEEM3. This is the third Advanced School on Scanning Transmission Electron Microscopy (AdSTEM3) that is organized and the aim of the organizators is to make the AdSTEM3 workshops permanent events on the state-of-the-art electron microscopy techniques.
The workshop is targeted at doctoral students, post-doctoral researchers and also already experienced microscopists and will cover various topics of 4D STEM imaging. At the school, particular attention will be given to the implementation and applications of various techniques resulting from sensitive direct electron detectors. Not only will be 4D STEM described but data-evaluation approaches and the choice of the appropriate evaluation software will also be commented on.
Location
The workshop will be held at the Marine Biology Station Piran. The Station is situated on a peninsula between Portorož and the medieval town of Piran, and built around the ruins of the 15th century St. Bernardin church. All the lectures will be held in the Marine Biology Station Piran.

Registration
Maximum number of participants at the AdSTEM3 School is 50. The applications will be selected on the first-to-register principle.
For the ESTEEM3 participants* there is no registration fee to attend the AdSTEM3. The ESTEEM3 participants have to cover their travelling and accommodation costs. Apart from attendance to all the AdSTEM3 lectures, the ESTEEM3 participants are entitled to:

- Three Lunches
- AdSTEM3 social events
The registration fee for non ESTEEM3 participants is 300,00 EUR, which covers:
- Attendance at all lectures
- School materials
