Goodbye 2020, hello new collaborations!

New collaborations with Q-SORT, TEESMAT and EUSMI projects
New collaborations with Q-SORT, TEESMAT and EUSMI projects

Even if the year 2020 was complicated, ESTEEM3 has never had so many collaborations on board.

Let's discover the new partnerships concluded with the Q-SORT, EUSMI, and TEESMAT projects.

Q-SORT - the Quantum Sorter

On 23 September 2020, a cooperation agreement was concluded with the Q-SORT project.

Q-SORT introduces a concept whereby the transmission electron microscope (TEM) is employed as a so-called Quantum Sorter (hence the project's name), ie a device that is able to pick out and display detailed information about electron quantum states. This in turn provides researchers with new information about the sample being examined.

The Consortium is composed by:

  • CNR-NANO , Istituto Nanoscienze - Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche (Italy);
  • Jülich , Research Center Jülich (Germany);
  • FEI , Thermo Fisher Scientific (The Netherlands);
  • Max Planck Institute (Germany);
  • University of Glasgow (United Kingdom);
  • QED Film & Stage Productions Ltd. (United Kingdom);
  • UNIMORE , Università di Modena e Reggio Emilia (Italy);
  • UM , Maastricht University (The Netherlands).

TEESMAT - the Open innovation Test bed for Electrochemical Energy Storage MATerials

On November 25, 2020, a cooperation agreement was concluded with the TEESMAT project.

TEESMAT for “Open innovation Test bed for Electrochemical Energy Storage MATerials” is an EU-funded project for energy storage.

The aim of this project is to set-up a platform (or OITB) dedicated to material characterization for Li-ion batteries, Na-ion batteries, Li all-solid batteries, Printed Zn / Li batteries, Lead-acid batteries, Metal air batteries, redox flow batteries, supercapacitors, and any kind of other electrochemical energy storage device.

The Consortium is composed by:

  • ARKEMA (France);
  • CEA , Commissariat à l'Energie Atomique et aux Energies Alternatives (France);
  • CEGASA , Cegasa Portable Energy SLU (Spain);

EUSMI - European Soft Matter Infrastructure

On 26 November 2020, a cooperation agreement was concluded with the EUSMI project.

European Soft Matter Infrastructure (EUSMI) is an EU funded project for the full chain of functional soft-matter material research. EUSMI provides access ranging from advanced material characterization, chemical synthesis of a full set of soft-matter materials, up scaling of laboratory synthesis, to modelling by high-performance supercomputing.

The Consortium is composed by:
