Prof. Susana Trasobares Llorente

Susana Trasobares Llorente is a professor at the CMIMQI department of the University of Cádiz. She conducts her researches at the "IMEYMAT". In the ESTEEM3 project, she leads the Work Package 8 – Materials for Energy and coordinates the UCA activities in the Work Package 13 – Management of the project.

In this interview, Susana Trasobares Llorente will explain her background, her role, and her views about ESTEEM3.

From 24 to 28 October 2022, the Workshop on Advanced TEM Specimen Preparation was held at the Stuttgart Center for Electron Microscopy (StEM) of the Max Planck Institute for Solid State Research, Stuttgart, Germany.

Many successful projects stem from transnational access provided by ESTEEM3. This week, we focus on the “Understanding of tritium trapping mechanisms in high dose neutron irradiated beryllium using EELS” project from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, which  was granted access to the Institute of Electron Microscopy and Nanoanalysis of the TU Graz (FEMLI) & Graz Centre for Electron Microscopy (ZFE), one of the ESTEEM3 TA provider.

From 19 to 21 October 2022, ESTEEM3 participated in the International Conference on Research Infrastructures (ICRI) to discuss the most challenging issues and pressing needs in research infrastructure policy-making related to both the post-pandemic recovery and the future development of research infrastructures, in Brno (Czech Republic).

StEM Workshop

StEM will organize a workshop on "Advanced TEM Specimen Preparation" in Stuttgart, Germany from October 24th to October 28th, 2022.

This week, we focus on the “Single Atom Catalyst For The Electrochemical Conversion Of CO₂ And Nitrate” project from the “Institut Européen des Membranes” (IEM) and University of Montpellier (France) which was granted access to the University of Cádiz (Spain), one of the ESTEEM3 TA providers.

This week, we focus on the “Glass-ceramic and ceramic materials for energy conversion and storage” project from the Politecnico di Torino (Italy) which was granted access to the International Centre of Electron Microscopy for Materials Science (IC-EM) at the AGH-UST in Krakow (Poland) one of the ESTEEM3 TA providers.

The Transnational Access campaign will be suspended from 12 September 2022 for an indefinite period. 

ESTEEM3 partners at JRA meeting

ESTEEM3 Joint Research Activities (JRAs) meeting was held from 8 to 9 September by the University of Oxford, in London.

A Ph.D. position is currently open at the Graz University of Technology in Investigation of the recrystallization behavior of Al alloys using in situ methods in electron microscopy.

ESTEEM3 at MCM 2022

ESTEEM3 and NanoMEGAS participated in the 16th Multinational Congress on Microscopy from 4 to 9 September 2022, in Brno (Czech Republic). 

ICRI 2022

ESTEEM3, together with the European Science Foundation, the MOSBRI Project, the VITALISE Project and EuroPlanet who are co-organising a side event within the framework of the ICRI 2022 Conference in Brno, will be presented regarding “Long-term sustainability of small and mid-scale distributed RI projects”.
